Profiles of the two founders
FoodDrink.co.uk Editor,
Robin Weekes:
Educated and trained as an engineer, Robin spent ten years in
the design
and marketing of mechanical engineering projects. He subsequently joined
semiconductor manufacturer Intel, and then ran an IT distribution
company.
He then went on to set up his own marketing business some sixteen years ago. A
logical diversification has been Robin's involvement in the publishing world,
as editor of the original Food & Drink title, as well as being editor of Engineering & Technology and Building & Construction.
Robin has seen both sides of the publishing world, and brings this
experience to bear in the new internet format of FoodDrink.co.uk, taking
on the role of editor once more.
FoodDrink.co.uk Publisher and Development Project Manager,
Gary Guillon:
Gary trained as an engineer in the aerospace industry where British
Standards and Military Specifications were important to the safety of
everyone involved. Working in various disciplines such as design, planning,
automation, inspection and test provided an excellent grounding to appreciate
the various essentials within the Food Drink industry.
Having run a number of European businesses for Mercury and Sun
Microsystems (Java Testing Division), Gary has been fundamental in the
planning and design of the world-wide Food Drink Directory, utilising
the latest Microsoft ASP.NET technologies.
Since becoming a Christian in 1990 Gary's perspective on life has
changed from 'making money regardless of the cost' to 'how can we help
others make an honest living in this world'.
